🔹 PART 1: WARM-UP (5 minutes)

Task: Quick quiz: “What are the school rules at your school?”

  • “Can you use your phone in class?”

  • “Do you have to wear a uniform?”

  • “What mustn't students do during exams?”


🔹 PART 2: PRESENTATION – USE OF MODALS (10 minutes)

Board/Table Presentation:

Let's think about school rules. Which modal verb fits best in the following situations?:

    • "Talking about past school experiences." 

🔹 PART 3: GUIDED PRACTICE (5 minutes)

Activity: Complete the sentences

Example:

🔹 PART 4: COMMUNICATIVE PRACTICE (8 minutes)

Activity: “Create a School!”

🧠 In pairs or groups, students invent a new school and write 5 rules or features using modals.

Prompts:

  • What students must/mustn’t do?

  • What they can/can’t do?

  • What students should do?

  • What rules are different from Greek schools?

🔹 PART 5: WRAP-UP & EXIT TICKET (2 minutes)

Task: Mini quiz – students write 3 sentences using modals about:

  1. Their own school rules

  2. Something they should do more at school

  3. A possibility about next week (e.g., “We might have a test”)


🧠 EXTENSION / HOMEWORK:

Task: Write a short paragraph (6–8 sentences) about school rules in a country you admire or want to study in, using at least 5 different modal verbs.
